Every grand adventure begins not with a line of code, but with a line on a piece of paper. The Isle of Grianan wasn't born from complex algorithms, but from a whisper of an idea—a dream of a land lost to time, shrouded in mist and memory. Before we wrote a single story or modeled a single tree, we had to capture its soul.

This is where the journey truly began: in notebooks filled with scribbled thoughts, on canvases splashed with evocative colors, and in countless sketches trying to find the unique shape of our world. It's a process less about design and more about discovery.

Finding the Feeling

We asked ourselves, what does Grianan *feel* like? The words that came to mind were 'ancient,' 'haunting,' 'majestic,' and 'forgotten.' We wanted players to feel like they were unearthing a secret, stepping into a place that has a deep, complex history, much of which has been lost.

Our concept art became our compass. These early paintings, like the ones above, weren't meant to be blueprints. They were meant to be emotional guides. They set the tone for the entire team—from level designers carving out landscapes to composers writing the score. Does this crumbling tower feel like it has stood against the sea for a thousand years? Does this forest feel like it holds ancient magic within its roots? If the art could answer 'yes,' we knew we were on the right path.

From these foundational pieces, the world grew. Every location you'll explore in Mists of Grianan has its origins in these early, dreamy explorations. We hope that when you finally step onto the isle, you'll feel that same sense of wonder that we felt when we first put pencil to paper.
